How we build a brand
Good brands are designed, not decorated. Every Higge brand is built by one team that joins strategy, aesthetics, engineering and human factors, from the first question to the product in a customer's hands.
Four disciplines, one team
Strategy
Research into the people we design for and the market around them, turned into a clear position — who the brand is for, what it promises and what it will never do.
Aesthetics
Form and proportion, and the colour, material and finish of every surface, designed as one visual language that the product, the packaging and the identity share.
Engineering
Structure, materials and tolerances designed alongside the form, with manufacturing in mind from the first sketch — fewer parts, simpler assembly, consistent quality.
Human factors
How a product is held, opened, used, cleaned and stored. We design around real hands and real routines, and test in use rather than on paper.
From first question to launch
Discover
We study the people we design for, how they live with products today and where the market leaves room for something better.
Define
We turn what we learn into a position and a design brief, with clear requirements for function, feel and price.
Design
Form, proportion, colour, material and finish are explored in sketches and models, together with the brand identity, so product and brand speak the same language.
Engineer
We develop structure, materials and tolerances with the people who will make the product, so the design can be produced well and the same way every time.
Prototype and test
Prototypes go into real hands. We test use, durability and feel, and refine until every detail has a reason to be there.
Launch and refine
We bring the brand to customers directly, listen closely and keep improving the product after launch.
What good design means to us
Useful first
A product is bought to be used. Function comes before decoration.
Honest
It looks like what it is and does what it promises — no more.
Built to last
Timeless form and durable materials over trends and short lifespans.
Thorough
Care down to the last detail, including the ones nobody notices at first.
As little as possible
We remove what is not needed until what remains is clear.
Responsible
Fewer parts, longer life and considered materials mean less waste.
